COUNTDOWN TO VALENTINE’S DAY FOR SINGLES

Sunday, February 7th begins the official one-week countdown to Valentine’s day. The only difference is, me, along with many others, are looking at this dreaded, I mean wonderful, holiday from a single person’s perspective.

Sometimes feelings of loneliness and despair may emerge. Bitterness may also emerge from some deep, dark corner of our brains. Or maybe some of us have come to accept this holiday for what it is—a way for shopping centers to make a little extra money after the more important and bigger holidays of the previous year. Oh, it’s also a day for celebrating the ones you love whether that be an intimate partner, family member, or friend. Sometimes when that bitterness seeps in, we all tend to forget the more important aspects of love and what not.

Each day counting down to D-Day, I mean V-Day, I plan to post something different for singles, all you lovey dovey couples be gone with ya bad selves (haha), in order to help them survive the upcoming nightmare of a day.

More importantly, keep your heads up ladies and gents. The day is about love. Remember your family and close friends first and foremost when you begin to get down on things. It’s just an ordinary day that some dummy gave a name to  meant to bring anguish to some and material things to others.

Please feel free to comment or post your own tips on getting through this day. :)
