DOWN SOUTH BEATS – BLOG PIMPIN’

You know, it’s been a little while since I’ve heard much of anything good come out of Middle Tennessee music wise, other than country of course. Actually, I really just stopped paying attention and listening to what comes out of Middle Tennessee. Honestly, the majority of the time, any hip hop or R&B coming out here is mainly a bunch of thug wanna-be’s who go around competing with each other—trying to see who can yell nonsense the loudest.

Don’t get me wrong. I’ve jammed to some of the Tullahoma/Winchester, Tennessee beats, supporting them simply because they come from down here. Generally, I’m disinterested as soon as they begin screaming and throwing up gang signs at each other. I’ve supported some who thought they could flow—key word, thought—and what it typically boils down to is, sit down and shut your face, because right now, there’s just a bunch of garbage coming out of your mouth.

But, then again, maybe that’s just not my taste. Sure, it may be good to some. My opinion is what it is—my opinion.

Last night, I came across a video on Facebook, because it had a friend of mine tagged in it. Yes, I can be a little nosey. I watched the video. I was impressed. I told him I planned on pimping him out in my next blog, so I hope, if he’s reading this, he doesn’t go all ape shit when he realizes I took some of his videos and pictures and remixed it a little. I haven’t touched the music itself. All credit for the music, pictures, and vocals needs to go to Tae Lor aka Royce.

In my opinion, the man has talent and a voice to match. If you want to know more about him, click on one of his names above and check him out. Before you go do that, check out the video below containing some snippets of his work.
